A reckless and uncaring woman, driven by guilt from the past, helps rescue an abandoned child from a family betrayal.
When reckless and uncaring, 20-something Isabella nearly runs over Lucy, an abandoned ten year-old, Isabella has to care for the child and track down her missing family, while also caring for her own injured sister.
Reluctantly, Isabella becomes the temporary guardian for the brainy and feisty Lucy. Meanwhile, Lucy’s troubled mother and estranged ex-stepfather, Helen and Ben, continue to grieve the loss of Lucy’s brother, Joshua, who drowned in the pool while Lucy was playing with him.
Coping with repeated upheavals in her own family, as well as a child-trafficking ring who are after Lucy, Isabella unravels the many betrayals in Lucy’s life – and fights to help Lucy recover her family.
